Google Ultra-Slim Samsung Chromebook

Google launches the “Computer for everyone” today.  The Samsung Chromebook is a 11.6 inch laptop that priced at $249.

The Samsung Chromebook is super slim, 0.8 inches thick and weighs 2.5 pounds, screen resolution is 1,366 x 768, 1080p video playback, Bluetooth 3.0 and 100GB of free cloud storage on Google Drive.

Chips With Texas Roots

Apple’s A5 chip is manufactured by Samsung in Austin.  The A5 chip is currently in the iPad, iPhone and iPhone.

The BlackBerry PlayBook is currently powered by Texas Instruments TI OMAP 4430.

Apple will sever ties with Samsung. Apple 6 will be manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC).

Samsung Tablet Coming This Fall

Samsung Galaxy Tablet will launch in Germany on Sept 2 and in the Fall for the U.S. 

The specs aren’t official but here are a few of the speculated specs:  7 inches, 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768 resolution, 1 GHz ARM processor, Android 2.2 OS and Front and Rear cameras.

Google takes on Microsoft!

Google officially announced that it will be releasing Chrome OS sometime around 2010 or 2011. The first release in 2010 will be geared towards netbooks and then later for desktops. They will also support the x86 and ARM platorms! This might challenge Microsoft to reconsider supporting the ARM platform! OEM computer manufactures will definitely like Google’s decision to support ARM because it will give them leverage against CHIPZILLA on processor and chipset prices.
