Microsoft and Barnes & Nobles Partnership

Microsoft is investing $300 million into Barnes & Nobles Nook e-reader, to create Barnes & Noble subsidiary.  Microsoft $300 investment will settle the patent lawsuit against Barnes & Noble, that it filed last year.

The subsidiary has yet to be named will bring together the digital and business college of B&N. B&N will own approximately 82.4% and Microsoft will own 17.6%.

This investiment will allow B&N to be more competitive against Amazon’s Kindle and Apple’s iPad.
