Safaricom Launches Little Cab App

Safaricom a leading Kenyan mobile telecom firm launches an online ride-hail app, Little Cab.  Safaricom will provide free internet to all Little Cab drivers.  All drivers will also receive free Samsung smartphones.

Little Cab app was developed by a Nairobi based software company, Craft Silicon.

Other e-riding platforms in Kenya are: Uber who launched at the beginning of last year,  Dubai owned MondoRide, Estonian, Taxify and other startups..

Safaricom chief executive officer (CEO) Bob Collymore says Little Cab will be a cheaper alternative with more benefits for riders. Little Cab riders will not have  price surge pricing.  The service will be simple, easy, and transparent

Little Cab runs on iOS, Android, and Windows devices and will soon be available for USSD (non-smartphone) users. The new app accepts cash, card, and Safaricom’s M-Pesa mobile money for payment. It provides live GPS enabled maps for pickups and offers free Wi-Fi to passengers.
