Android 7.0 Nougat

Google rolls out Android 7.0 Nougat today for the Nexus devices – Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C and General Mobile 4G.

The new features includes:

  • Multi Windows multitasking – Simply hold the overview button on the right side of the navigation bar when in an app to choose another to place beside it or above it.
  • Better Notification – a new slider to notification settings that allows you to pick how important they are, instead of the app automatically picking for you.
  • Longer Battery Life – New version of Doze will give you better battery life.  Doze reduces the impact that apps not actively running in the foreground have on battery life.  The update will update Doze.
  • New Tools to use less Data Usage – The setting hidden under Data usage stops apps from sending or receiving data when in the background and limits an app’s data usage
  • More Human Emoji – an update to Unicode 9, 72 new emoji added for a total of over 1500
  • Change the DPI and font size – If the text and icons on screen are just too big or too small, now you can adjust how big everything is.
  • Improved Security and more
