Lenovo and NEC Form Partnership

Lenovo and NEC will form NEC Lenovo Japan Group and will establish a new organization known as Lenovo NEC Holdings B.V.  Lenovo will hold 51% stake in the new joint venture and NEC will hold 49% stake.  A new company was formed as a result of NEC PC separating from NEC Personal Products.

NEC’s current president Hideyo Takasu will become President and CEO of the joint venture and Roderick Lappin the current Director and President of Lenovo will become Executive Chairman.

Lenovo’s ThinkPad X120e

The ThinkPad X120e is Lenovo’s netbook.  The X120e uses AMD E-Series CPU.  The E-Series are based on the Bobcat core, they are dual-core, 1.6GHz-E350 and the single-core is 1.5GHz-E250.  Both CPUs are on the Radeon HD6310 chip.

The 11.6 inch X120e will have an anti-glare display, webcam, optional bluetooth, GSM/CDMA broadband and the netbook colors will be red, white and black.
