The Microsoft Store is now open to preview the apps for MS Office Suite 2013. The current featured apps are LinkedIn for Outlook, M-W Dictionary, Twitter, Bing, eFax for Word and more. The apps are inside Office client application and you will be able to use the apps to “extend the functionally of a document, email, meeting or meeting request.

Microsoft will be opening 75 stores in the next two years. Microsoft will open 4 stores in the next few months and 1 international store at the end of the year.
In April they are scheduled to open 2 stores, in Palo Alto, CA and Austin, TX. The 2 remaining stores are schedule to open the end of June, they are located in Bridgewater and Freehold New Jersey. All 4 stores are to open in malls near the Apple stores.
MS opens 1st store retail today in Scottsdale, Arizona; as it launch Win 7. The store will offer a select line of laptops, netbooks, all-in-one PCs, Xbox, Win Mobile phones, and one of the largest 3rd party software title selections.
The store layout is similar to the Apple Store. George Blankenship was real estate chief for Apple. He is now a consultant assistanting retail planning.
The 2nd store is scheduled to open Thursday, Oct 29 in Mission Viejo, Ca.
Microsoft will open stores in time for the release of Windows 7. Microsoft has hired David Porter, a Walmart verteran to develop the retail plan. A small number of stores will open in 2009 and additional stores are scheduled to open in 2010. This is MS second venture in retail. They opened one store in San Franisco but they never expanded and that store closed in Nov. 2001.
